I'd have to agree that they're just isn't as many classic games which we reminisce about.

Although, to be fair, some friends and I still talk about how we use to LAN play Halo: Combat Evolved and Quake back in college. Those times really was awesome (since I always kicked people's asses - to the point that they would actively avoid me). I also remembered playing Wolfenstein 3D with a friend where he controlled practically everything and I had space. Which was stab. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to play a game when someone is repeated pressing space.

Man, I love pinball machines, and pinball mechanics in video games (boy did I ever love Sonic Spinball). How more pinball mechanics haven't found their way into my games yet, I have no idea.

Also wanted to say great article, I love hearing about old video games experiences. 'Specially since games nowadays don't seem to have nearly the same lasting effect and on real world relationships (online play, bah!).

Something tells me that the only games we're really going to be talking about nostalgically from the last couple of years will be Smash Bros (seriously, is there any other great series based on 4 player same screen play?), Wii Sports (remember when motion control was so simple and fun? Now it's way too complex and confusing!), and more 'meta' stuff like World of Goo and Braid.

I mean, do you really expect people to be saying things like, 'geez guys, remember when we pwnzored those n00bz online in Halo 20 times in a row and questioned their sexuality repeatedly? Those were the days! They just don't make games like Halo anymore!' Oh the lawls.

Anyways, looking forward to more stories, and I know the secret game, hehehe.

My favorite co-op game when growing up was Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones. I never actually had the game, but I would borrow it from my cousin and play it with my brother. I loved how every time you would beat a boss, you would get that character to use in the game. I think the farthest we ever got was a ninja dojo, though I am not sure how far that is.
As for arcades, I have only been to a few of them. (I guess Chuckee cheese counts a little :P, but I have also been to a boomtown arcade and another arcade place once)
My best experience with arcades was an arcade machine that one of my friends has at his house. It had super mario bros. 3, chip and dale, gauntlet, and my favorite super C. I would play super C with him every time I went over.

I miss arcades. :(

Makes me want to go to Japan since their arcades kick ass. The arcades (if they can be called that) are basically the crappy one's by the seaside where it's mainly those coin machines. I'm itching for some retro old-skool Street Fighter or something!

Yeah, pinball machines are more important!

I didn't even have any real video games in my childhood (Stickybear Spellgrabber doesn't count), except for this one restaurant that had a Golden Tee Golf machine next to their pinball machine. I remember playing both of those so many times....

If you and Brad ever do get a pinball machine, you should fix it up and make it into FPA pinball! Color the ball like a shell, make the bumpers into spiders, etc. That would be awesome.

Well you know we could start a movement similar to Save the Polar Bears, just make it Save the Pinball Machines!
Yea, I'm addicted to pinball machines, but its almost impossible to find them . . .
I'm sure one of the goals me and Brad have in common is to one day own a couple of those . . . or at least one ;-)

You mean, I learned "Pinball Wizard" on guitar for nothing? Aww...
I always liked pinball machines. Once I won my mom a free car wash by playing pinball :P

* If anyone doesn't know what "Pinball Wizard" is,

Does anyone have any arcades where they are?
I am afraid that pinball machines will soon become extinct =(
