I’ve been adding all the engine refinements from ME2D back into FPA. Crazy how much better the game looks with character rotational smoothing. No more jitters, yay!
Fancy Pants Man now has 3 separate run cycles, want to add a whole bunch of different jumps too. I’m nuts. Got a lot of animating ahead of me. Good thing I love animating.
Here’s something that bugs me to no end. I am not Justin Long, you are not John Hodgeman.
Apple uses actors to represent their products, Mircrosoft defines their users by what products they buy. Huge difference there.

So when I’m not doing concept work for World 3, I’ve been playig Super Metroid. Never beat it before, so I figured I should buy it from the Wii VC and do just that. Amazing game. So, I’ve gotten a few emails and such asking about puzzle elements in FPA, nothing overpowering, but what would you guys think of some sort of level or character progression in World 3?
Hey guys, so I’m trying out a new sidebar thingy, something that would allow me to make smaller posts that don’t push down more important posts (like pictures of various pets on my shoulders).
What do you think of the idea? Is the site too thick now? Should I just sell my soul and finally get a twitter to place up here?

I’ve seen swimming games where the health bar also acts as a air bar maybe you could add that.

Brad didn’t send it to me, I found it.
And she turns into FPM because a lot of the animations aren’t done yet – as you’d expect.
To upload fan art, upload it to any image hosting site (imageshack, photobucket, flickr etc.) than you can post the link here or email it to Brad if you want it on the fan art page.

Yeah, her hair is pretty much slapped on, it’s doesn’t transition correctly yet. I was working on her for awhile there, but then went back to Fancy Pants Man. I’ll get back to her eventually…

Just wondering:
How is Cutie Pants going to swim? Will she be able to move around freely or just float accross?
Will we switch characters in levels, as in switching when we want, only at certian areas, or whole levels as one character?
What special moves will Cutie Pants have/not have?
What will be the combat tactic under water (on land it was Mario Style)?
Not sure yet, Cutie Pants’s moveset is generally simpler than FPM because of the grapple-cat mechanic. I wouldn’t want to limit where she could go that much though. She doesn’t run as fast, so she can’t run up loops. Cutie Pants is part of the plot and generally a secondary character. She’s playable, but there’s no character switching mechanic.
Hm, if you’re going to compare land to Mario, then I guess underwater might be most comparable to NiGHTS? With the dash mechanic confined to wall push-offs. I’m not really tryin to straight up copy / reference anyone, I just design what I like and what works for the characters. Characters first, gameplay follows
So Brad, are you planning on posting fancy cristmas up again this year? i didn’t get a chance to play it last year!
also, will there be any new tipes of unlockables other than just Aew pants? (greese paint-brush, new cats skins for kabootle, fancy minigames ect.)

Oh yeah, I should definitely put that Christmas build up soon, I finished it so late last year…
Wouldn’t be surpised if there’s some pretty big differences between any two working builds, I revise animations up to maybe like 5 or more times before I settle on something I like. Probably one of the reasons I’m really touchy about people trying to copy or use my animations…
