Here it is, the report that you all have better been waiting for! I present…
TOOTHPICK NINJAS!
Flash game developer Brad Borne's personal web site.
Not much else to say that hasn’t been said better elsewhere.
I really started creating digital content once I got my first Mac, a now ancient PowerBook G4 (clocked slower than my current phone, imagine that). I first got into Flash games by creating stopmotion animation, and I got into that because I enjoyed video editing, thanks to in no small part by Apple’s focus on media creation with iLife and FireWire (an utter God-sent during the time of DV cameras).
So here’s to (as The Onion playfully puts it) the last American who knew what the heck he was doing.
…Windows. And Flash?

The iPad is epic win. Maybe I’ll finally answer my massive backlog of emails (sorry everyone who’s emailed me recently!).

Need some feedback, guys! No, not about the pirate! Read more »
Don’t try this at home!
(Oh and click the pic for a larger version)
Sorry for the utter lack of updates on World 3 (though that seems to be the norm nowadays, eh?), keep a heads up, though, Ill be posting some new footage sometime tonight or tomorrow
Good stuff, I promise.

I’ve been adding all the engine refinements from ME2D back into FPA. Crazy how much better the game looks with character rotational smoothing. No more jitters, yay!
Fancy Pants Man now has 3 separate run cycles, want to add a whole bunch of different jumps too. I’m nuts. Got a lot of animating ahead of me. Good thing I love animating.

Here’s something that bugs me to no end. I am not Justin Long, you are not John Hodgeman.
Apple uses actors to represent their products, Mircrosoft defines their users by what products they buy. Huge difference there.

So when I’m not doing concept work for World 3, I’ve been playig Super Metroid. Never beat it before, so I figured I should buy it from the Wii VC and do just that. Amazing game. So, I’ve gotten a few emails and such asking about puzzle elements in FPA, nothing overpowering, but what would you guys think of some sort of level or character progression in World 3?

Hey guys, so I’m trying out a new sidebar thingy, something that would allow me to make smaller posts that don’t push down more important posts (like pictures of various pets on my shoulders).
What do you think of the idea? Is the site too thick now? Should I just sell my soul and finally get a twitter to place up here?

Not over here :/
@Brad: Half-Life 2 is so darn amazing. I haven’t come that far, and I thought I was stuck. But hey, the game is well thought trough. Aka, there was a few craters containing the weapons and health I needed.
Though, it’s kinda a thing running in this game. If you see health, you know there’s a fight, and if you see cops coming from a certain path, then you’d know that the game wants you there.
Though, as I am a lazy twit, I’m playing on easy. But that doesn’t make the story worse, does it.
So yeah. Two hours of bloody fun. At least two hours. And a lot of amazing story. But to be fair, it’s almost more fun running around revealing story, than it is to run around and shot combine forces. And of course a few aliens.
Easy mode? Bah. Doesn’t change the story, but working for the progression is the most engaging and rewarding part of a video game. Easy mode, psh…
Do the right thing. Put it back on normal ; )
Haha. That would kinda ruin it for me. Ask I completely suck at this game. If I was a little bit better, I’d probably run it on normal.
And hey, some people would call this my first FPS. So my reflexes are still kinda slow. And as I said, I kinda need health-ups all the time. But that’s mostly because of the fact that the game is so darn confusing from times to times. And finding secret paths, while low on health and having combine forces shooting on you, is fun, but frustrating.
@Brad: FINSIHED ANIMATIONS FOR BOTH THE NINJAS AND THE FROGS?!?!?!?! THAT IS SO FREAKISHLY AWESOME I’M GONNA EXPLODE!!!!
P.S.: Oh noes, it’s past my bedtime (10:15 where I live). I’d better go!
i always put games on normal. but when i fail, it goes back to easy. then back to normal (eventually)
@mfranzs: when has that EVAR stopped him before?
@DaxterSpeed: Personally, I prefer the 360 controller, which Half Life 2 has support for. Less twitchy, though the aiming isn’t as good as Halo / CoD / Mass Effect 2 (which doesn’t have 360 support on PC
)
@Nats M. Sky: Yep! Once I start animating…
@hamcheese362: Psh, when I was your age, we were playing Mega Man and beating games on Very Hard mode (aka the only mode there was). Kids these days
SMB1 is still kinda hard… Especially on original console.
I actually have a really sweet mouse. Not that it has auto aim. But it’s really configurable. And as a general not there, I don’t want the distance, to move the mouse, to be more than 1.5cm to get from one side of the screen to another.
And I don’t own a 360. Because I wouldn’t pay for overpriced consoles. |B|
I have a Performance MX mouse (pretty pro I guess) and 1.5 across the screen is still ridiculous :O. Forget aiming in HL, I’d never be able to even click on anything at all, haha.
Well, I’m like that. Mine’s a Razer BTW. And I believe it’s currently 2cm. That might be because of precision. (Look on the bright side, this setting really doesn’t ruin your mouse mat that fast!)
Anyways, as you might actually be on right now, take a look at this little drama going on from this post:

You’ll be the judge in this one.
