Man, I sound so out of it in this video. Crazy week, very very tired. Anyways, a look at the inbetweened mouse who can now look down, and some sketched concepts for some sea creatures. Which do you guys like best?
The mice look great. The transitions of angles is really smooth. I think that the jellyfish is very FPA style but I don’t how it will attack. However the ell is the coolest one by far. The only problem is it would take a lot of work to make( I am guessing). Again another awesome report.
Very cool stuff, those mice look pretty hardcore firing in tandem, but I for one would love to try to beat a whole room of them.
Regarding the water baddies, I think the eel could be interesting. It could have some nice slinky movement, and if FPM gets too close, it gives him a jolt of electricity, maybe?
The jellyfish is also cool, but I dunno… another angry creature charging madly… you’re already doing that with the duck, and there’s no need to make the baddies too same-y. That’s just my opinion, of course.
And by the way, I noticed the star thingies in the vid before you mentioned it, but I’ve no idea what they’re for.
Yo! Can I vote for more than one? Blowfish: Blows up if you get to close, and the spines hurt you. while it is deflating is when it is vulnerable. Eel: like an electric eel, it crackles with electricity at constant intervals, and is vulnerable anytime else. Catfish: this thing would work almost the same as the angry duck above water. It charges at you, and you have to make sure not to get hit when it is doing so. Those are my votes. I understand coding time is lengthy, but I would much rather have a really awesome game that takes longer to make, so I vote for those three.
Not much else to say that hasn’t been said better elsewhere.
I really started creating digital content once I got my first Mac, a now ancient PowerBook G4 (clocked slower than my current phone, imagine that). I first got into Flash games by creating stopmotion animation, and I got into that because I enjoyed video editing, thanks to in no small part by Apple’s focus on media creation with iLife and FireWire (an utter God-sent during the time of DV cameras).
So here’s to (as The Onion playfully puts it) the last American who knew what the heck he was doing.
Sorry for the utter lack of updates on World 3 (though that seems to be the norm nowadays, eh?), keep a heads up, though, Ill be posting some new footage sometime tonight or tomorrow
I’ve been adding all the engine refinements from ME2D back into FPA. Crazy how much better the game looks with character rotational smoothing. No more jitters, yay!
Fancy Pants Man now has 3 separate run cycles, want to add a whole bunch of different jumps too. I’m nuts. Got a lot of animating ahead of me. Good thing I love animating.
So when I’m not doing concept work for World 3, I’ve been playig Super Metroid. Never beat it before, so I figured I should buy it from the Wii VC and do just that. Amazing game. So, I’ve gotten a few emails and such asking about puzzle elements in FPA, nothing overpowering, but what would you guys think of some sort of level or character progression in World 3?
Hey guys, so I’m trying out a new sidebar thingy, something that would allow me to make smaller posts that don’t push down more important posts (like pictures of various pets on my shoulders).
What do you think of the idea? Is the site too thick now? Should I just sell my soul and finally get a twitter to place up here?
awesome video. great mouse. i vote to add the jellyfiish…oh, and first comment!
Hi, awesome work!
)
I think those mice should be able to hit one another.
I vote for jellyfish…

The mice are looking brilliant!!!!
I would say that the blowfish would be good especially in tight gaps.
wow,
I just realised that i have been playing the beta version of world2 all this time…
What are the stars for? (Top-right)
I quite like the idea of a jellyfish too. And maybe an octopus!
[EDIT] You should have an angler fish (or whatever they’re called) but instead of the light it has a squiggle at the end to draw FPM in. XD
