This will probably be ignored because of what a stupid idea it is, but it would be awesome if fancy pants came out for ipod. If it's possible imagine world 3 for the iPod Touch! The controls could work with tilt for movement and tapping the screen to jump. I know nothing about code, programming or anything that involves numbers so I have no idea how easy or hard this might be, that being said though, a fancy pants app would make me so happy.

tell me what you think, or just tell me that I'm stupid

So, call me crazy, but I was poking around on IGN like I always do until I ran into this article:

http://ds.ign.com/articles/117/1175987p1.html

I've been keeping an eye on Rayman: Origins for awhile now, looks gorgeous, can always use some more platforming. But there's been a few things bugging me about it. ESPECIALLY the last paragraph:

'On the flipside was the oft-dreaded water level, the moment in every platforming game where I reluctantly leap in, hoping for as fast an end as possible, so I can get back to land where things actually work again. But Rayman Origins turned my expectations on their sides. It controlled absolutely perfectly underwater – probably better than any game of its kind ever has. I immediately found myself swirling the joystick in circles as I watched Rayman swim around like a dolphin in paradise and my fears were quelled. This is a current-generation, sidescrolling platform game done right in HD, with all the attention to detail where it should be and all physics that feel right. Now it's just a matter of seeing if Ubisoft can keep the juggling act entertaining from start to finish.'

See, this is Rayman 1:

and this is Rayman Origins:

All the differences between the two, save for the big budget, 50 dollar retail release level interactivity, look vaguely familiar to me.

I don't know, am I just being paranoid, or suffering from a large ego? Did I accidentally stumble on to the next logical step of 2d platformers, or being, uh, sincerely flattered by companies with far larger budgets?

Feel free to tell me that I'm nuts and FPA just isn't that important, heh. It's just that, well, platformers just didn't play like that until FPA (and don't tell me Sonic did, because it plays completely differently ).

Look at the Super Mario 63 Level Designer. And Super Mario 63 was a big game like how World 3 will maybe be.

Feedback on FPA for consoles has still been overwhelming, and right now the only negative comments we've been getting are about the uncertainty of World 3, and the differences between the two games. I've been shying away from addressing the two in anything but comments here and there, but I think it'll be best to just take the issue head on and post a FAQs regarding the two games.

So, which particular questions do you guys think should be addressed regarding the two games?

Yeah. There's a bunch of fun things you can do in this game, some on purpose, and some with (I assume) glitches. So here's to documenting all easter eggs and cool techniques!

EASTER EGGS:
-When standing still, FPM stretches and hunches over, and then falls asleep.
-When pressed against a wall, FPM makes a hand-gesture.
-Sometimes when ducking, he also does a hand-gesture.
-He can also comb his hair and get it stuck, making an afro, when standing still.

COOL LITTLE TECHNIQUES:
-Wavedashing: When jumping, hold down as you land to enter a slide based on fall distance. Pretty useful for taking out enemies, and has the classic Melee edgehog technique to boot! Wavedashing backwards makes you roll. The speed of the dash also depends on fall height... might be useful for racing / speed runs.
-When running up a loop-the-loop, after passing the top point, press duck rapidly to make smoke that gradually increases in size.
-When running, duck multiple times to generate lots of smoke. If done right, he stays doing the dashcancel animation and making smoke.
-When sliding, hold back and jump to backflip. Hold forwards and down to wavedash, leading to an incredibly cool flip/dash combo that is sadly useless.

I think it even lets you access FPA2 offline, as far as I can tell, you still need google chrome though.
I assume the flash file is downloaded, then ran on your computer directly, removing the need to find a game site, and heavily decreasing load time.
