On topic;

...er, why's everyone coding in AS2? (or that's what I'm assuming) ...AS3 is much better >_>

Anyways, there are multiple free programs, you don't have to use CS; Flex is one of them, that plus FlashDevelop is just as good as CS5, and it's for FREE...
There's no such thing as making "fake" games and "real" games; if you make game maker games, those are still games... the language may be simpler, but that doesn't make you any "worse" than someone who can code in "real" code...

Er yeah, try Flex. It's somewhat-really-good-ish...

What is Flex exactly? From what I've seen it's like Flash without any drawing tools or library.

i even HAVE it and i don't know what it does..
i have a lot of adobe programs i've never used yet. hmmm... *open flex*

of progamming, not the colourful lego bricks of scratch.
of course, the games of scratch are real games, too...

I have Flex, basically flex is like a AS2 compiler, that you can make flash files with, but you have to load pictures from an external source since it include no graphic editing thingy's. The only thing i could make with flex was an "hello world" app. xP.

Anyways why would you need to draw in flash anyways? You could simply use another image editor (paint.NET, etc.) and copy it in. I see no advantage to drawing in flash besides how it's vectorized and not rasterized, but in most games bitmaps produce less lag (resizing shouldn't really be a big problem in flash games)...

If you want to learn "real" programming you could alternatively learn C or any of its variants; I think those are used to produce .exe games. It's much [citation needed] more complicated than flash, because I don't think it's OOP, but...

...depends on your definition of "real". A game is a game, the method you use to create it shouldn't matter...

Unless you want to impress your teacher, then you'd want to use brainfuck (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brainfuck)
