After about an hour, I finally finished my avatar on Adobe Illustrator CS. Tell me what you guys think!

Nice. I like the fire... vectored? The frame is interesting, but nothing too wow. It's cool, though, and fits. My only issue is with the text. It probably looks better big - small, it's kind cramped, and blends with the background a bit. If you're feeling cartoony, maybe a 1 pixel black stroke on the border?

The only problem i havewith it is i would like the name to stand out. do you have a good color that would fit well?

I can never make custom avatars.... Good job with yours though! My avatar was supposed to be something like one of the Fan Art photos, but I haven't finished editing...

Actually you can make it under any program, paint, photoshop, etc. But to get it on your avatar all you have to do is save it as a jpg. From there, you save it on your desktop, go under avatar on your profile and upload it. Very easy.

You can save as .gif or .png as well.
I use Paint.net most of the time (it's free!). And it's awesome.

Although .png is generally a larger file because it contains alpha values (providing transparency).

@Mistercheef: Do you make your avatar in dimensions larger than 120 x 120; since it looks like it's been resized. It's better if you make if you make it in the dimensions that it's going to be seen by others; resizing creates some problems.
@SuitedCriminal: It is awesome. It requires no text yet explains itself so efficiently. But it only makes sense when "SuitedCriminal" is underneath it, as if it wasn't I would think it's a SuitedSpy or something.
