You know how we're talking about Apple, Google, Microsoft and etc. both on the blog and here on the forum? We'll, I've decided to make a thread right here to discuss these big / bigger companies.
Let's begin with the discussion that was already held on the blog:
Adobe vs. Microsoft and Adobe vs. Apple.
What company does Adobe products work the best with?

...Er, no way. Adobe and Apple are totally against each other, what with the introduction of HTML5, exclusion of flash from iPad, etc. etc. etc. -_-
The main battle right now is in effect between Adobe and Apple, and Microsoft/Google aren't really doing anything. The iPad's pretty revolutionary, I don't think the other megacompanies are going to move until it blows over...
Recently, Apple have overtaking Microsoft to become the largest tech company (based on share price).
Funnily enough, Microsoft products are better then Apple. And that's because of someone smart hiding in the background.
But Apple's concept is:
-Invent product. (Takes about $100)
-Sell product for hideous prices. (Gives massive win)
-Upgrade product, but do only sell upgraded version and not a cheaper upgrade. (Gives more massive win)
-Ignore customer support. (Gives MASSIVE win)
We'll see what happens next. People are pretty much gambling on Apple right now. Gaining more and more money for them self until Apple finally crashes.
Apple products are quite over-priced, you have to admit.
definitely, macs cost more for their pretty graphics, and their annoying operating system. i like macs, they' re pretty and nice to work on. but i'd never wan't one for my own. they cost too much, have a really annoying operating system, and wast all their ram on useless graphics. windows shall prevail!
@j_m Everything you said applies to Windows Vista and to a lesser extent 7, as well. V/7 has a ton of "pretty" animations and graphics, Windows 7 cost frikin' 220 $$! (no edu discount) which is pretty expensive, and windows (to me) is infinitely more annoying to me than mac, probably because I have used them since age 3. Also, Windows Vista is an immense memory hog.
@Cool: You can pretty much turn all those off. W7 does have an education discount, that's how I got mine. As for memory hog, yes it is. If you're looking for performance, look at Linux. Infinite options on performance there.

may i respectfully take back any comments i've made so far to this discussion, i feel i have no right after being told of by both brad and jenna...

even though windows is a lot more complicated, I’ve just grown up with them, so i’m a lot more inclined to toss my opinion their way. ma may be better, but as i haven’t really given them a chance yet, and obviously cannot be objectionable in this argument because of that; for now, i’ll agree with you and say mac is the bester. i really shouldn’t be debating something i haven’t hit the books on yet.
Microsoft have been pushed over by apple recently, buts its all strategy. basically, microsoft is waiting for Google Chrome OS, to come out, then, Google, who until now have been backing off from Apple Territory will be trying to claw out apple neck. microsoft will watch from afar, then when the battles over, microsoft, with the BILLIONS they have in the bank, will awaken, revolutionize windows, and smash Apple, and Google to a pulp, just like they did before (with apple, and Netscape, and HP, and Oh forget it, you know what i mean) The Only thing is, MS doesn't have Gates in their forte, so it'll be a tough battle...lets see how this plays out.
p.s., i have windows 7 (on laptop) OSX (mac Mini) and XP (desktop), and i have my laptop in storage, and my Mac Mini buried under a mountain of video games. As you can tell, i like XP better.
I don't think it'll be quite so easy this time.
