Sweet! Although, you could balance out the difficulty a little. While some parts are really, really easy, some are too hard. I couldn't finish the ice level, for example.
Looks good. I played it and it keeps the idea of the original games and puts it into a more stylised look. The first few levels looked great, but then it seemed to go back to just blocks for the levels.

I'm still playing the ice level, which is great btw.
But whats with the end? I finally jumped all the ice cubes, then there was a pit so I took a big jump and then there was this spring which i couldnt get anymore! *Freaks out*
EDIT:yay, finished it! the ice level, at least...

It was simple yet entertaining.
Too bad there were no achievements...
The ice level is easily the hardest. And is it just me or do you travel further in that level? Even when your in the air after a non-running start jump it seems you travel further than you normally would.
Someone said that in the comments as well. Guess Zymn just edited the slow down variable and speed variable or such...

Surely there's some way of only editing the variable when your on solid ground (or in this case, ice).
Isn't there a way to have a variable where is set to true on when your on the ground, and then false when your in the air. Then adjust the speed variable based on that variable. I.e. When false, speed variable is normal. When true, speed variable is twice the normal rate. Or something?

That ice level is hard, but I passed it! And I noticed the slippery air, too. Couldn't you do something like
if (_root.ice.hitTest(block)) {
friction = 0;
} else { friction = 1; }
just put in the right variables and proper hitTest function. That seems like it would solve it. I dunno, maybe you code differently than I do.

its ok but i have to say the only thing that made me compete it was determination not fun. Sure there was a bit of fun but you could of made it better like in the ice level instead of 6-8 blocks (which are tinny) which you have to jump on you could of made it so u slide down a canyon of snow or something just some stuff like that would be good.
Yeah I died a lot, but hurray for the moving platforms finally!

I dead a lot too.
But that's one of the great things about this game. You can die all you want, and it doesn't matter. Nothing annoys me more than games where you're in constant danger of death and you only have like two lives. (FPA doesn't count, cuz it's not constant danger of death). So please, never add a "lives" feature to your games.
haha, i don't plan on giving lives to it.
