Something tells me that spoilers will be abused.

But also if it was just called "show" and not "spoiler" I'd like it better because then us mods can use them to cut down huge posts.

What would be the best way though?

I suppose the simplest way would be to make all the text inside the tags white or grey (depending on the post background, if you can somehow monitor that). Or maybe use some javascript where clicking a "Show" link will reveal the text.
