Thanks for the Christmas FP thar Daxter. As for donations, I think Brad should should lure people to his website with FancySantaPants man. Then when they're here they'll boost his advert income and hopefully his donations as well.

Brad's website isn't advertised very well at all. It was tough to get to it from World 2, unless Brad put a link in the description.

Or there should be a Donate door in the FPM banner.

That's probably better than my idea...

I don't think Brad needs to advertise explicitly about the blog, if someone really wanted to find out more about Brad the door leading to the blog it's not that hard to find in FPA2. And a quick google search would bring them here to.

And as for leading more people to the site for more donations... well the fact is not many people donate. Yea sure so maybe if more people visit the site you'd get more donations, but it's usually minimal (unless you have a gigantic install-base) or you're offering something over people who get the free stuff. Like a subscription or something. And Brad would never do that (and then it wouldn't be a donation anymore, lol).

Not to mention the fact that the blog contains no advertising either - which I applaud Brad for - so luring people to the blog won't really get anything for Brad (except a larger bandwidth expenditure). Well, that's not strictly true he'll get more coverage I suppose. But with the ad that comes at the beginning of FPA2 (Mochiads I think it was?) I think Brad does alright in that regard.

i would not mind having ads on the blog and the forum, nothing to annoying. maybe some Google ads or something. i don't mind having to see some text or simple picture ads if it helps brad.

If there are more people visiting the blog, there probably will be more spammers here. But probably more serious and responsible members too. So advertising would bring both good and bad things.

Brad already explained why he got rid of those, hence the donate button.

And if he wrote "light saber" in a post, Google ads will show that there are "Light sabers" on EBay, under "Military Stuff".
