YOU'RE IN AMERICA! SUE THEIR SORRY BUTTS!
I don't have a game console, so I can't play the demo.
I haven't actually tested the demo, or bought the game, but yeah, from what I've seen it's very much like Fancy Pants Adventures.
The question is if they got inspiration from your work, or if they just thought of creating a very smooth and easy to control platformer themselves.
I mean you've both been inspired by previous works, but it would be fun to know if Ubisoft got inspired by you.
@Brad: You should ask them to put your name into the credits, at least...
From what I've seen, it looks like an improved (details, graphics, etc) FPA on console... I haven't played FPA (console) nor R:O but it really looks like they "copied" your ideas and your "platform game-concept"

Ask to put his name in the credits????????
Of course not
Brad should sue them.
The move set is strikingly similar. I recently played the demo and I found the swimming and just running around in general to be quite similar to fancy pants. I think it is kinda clear that they must at least have played Fancy Pants. I mean curved ground and slope detection isn't something that has always been with the rayman series. The swimming sections in both games are like the 2d swimming in smg 2. But yeah, like previous posts mention that it seems like they where trying to pull the best of recent platformers. I still think the beat'em up elements are kinda different. More fast paced and mindless. Still, it's the most noticeable mechanic through out the rayman series along with the helicopter hair. I think it is every rayman game excluding some lame learning games of course.
some swimming section gameplay from super mario galaxy 2(skip to 2:20) :
@Brad: Even if they did use your game as inspiration (which might be possible). There's not much to do about it (unless you somehow managed to copyright that particular gameplay element). In the end, the game looks fun. And that's probably the best for everyone.
Now if only I could get SEGA to steal everyone's ideas and make a good Sonic game...
Oh the irony of this statement.

What you tryin to say?
@DrNeroCF As I interpreted, he said that Ray-man is just too important.
@Brad: That Rayman looks fun and I want to play it.
Looks like my quote failed, I was referring more to:

Oh, it seems quoting doesn't keep indented blockquotes now. Shame. And man, Sonic Generations is good.
Nope
Of course it is, they took the best out of what, 6 separate Sonic games? If that turned out anything but awesome, they'd have to fire and publicly shame every single person slightly associated with Sonic Team

Haha, in fairness, this was said to be true for so many earlier games too. Until they were released anyway.
But alas, the Sonic Cycle is finally broken!

True, but none of those games were wanted so badly that fans up and just started making them by themselves:

The Sonic Cycle has merely been sidestepped, for now...
@Brad: if it only was a playable game, meh...
