It's removed. You didn't adhere to the guidelines set for a new article on Wiki. That's why we're planning a lot of the stuff here first.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Right... please nobody post it until we're sure it's ready. If we keep trying, Wikipedia will eventually block it.

Also, it's preferable if someone learns the ways of Wiki. So as to make sure we can get this up quickly and without problems.

well, you could make a pb wiki to start. thats what i did, and it works well, although its more of a site than a wiki. otherwise, its great. maybe if you could get someone big like armor games to contact wiki, so you can make your article, that might work. id guess you want to get on wikipedias good side before you do anything. considering FPAs huge audience, im sure theyll let you. and as for your articles, thats a great start, although maybe it would be a good idea to insert a mini brad bio so the readers know who theyre dealing with. also, it would be cool to add a little article about brads old games like snow blitz, or nuclear eagle, eh?

ArmorGames probably has better things to do than write a Wiki page for FPA. And it's not that our article won't be accepted by Wikipedia, we just never got around to finishing it.
Don't forget, this page is about FPA itself, not Brad Borne. So we can't really mention all that stuff about the other games unless we make a separate Wiki page for that.

The fact of the matter is also that we don't have that much to write about it. So it may just turn out to be a stub more than anything.

I have made a test page 4 u 2 play with.
I copied the dirk valentine page so just put in your own info instead.

How does FPA not have it's own page yet?
You know, you guys could ask me about stuff and put it on there, like why are the dragon birds so ugly, why is there a candle in level 5, what's FPM's real name, point out all the weird stuff in the backgrounds ('brad' in world 1, 'my name' in world 2, all the random stuff that got into level 3 while we were beta testing it), origin of the angry penguin and rabbit, all known info about World 3, will there ever be a female fancy pants character, stuff like that...
VERY disappointed

You guys heard the man! Get to work!
Actually, you'd be surprised how hard it is to get an article going. Maybe we should attempt to get a stub up first and then expand upon it as we go along.
Well, at least ME2D is sorta in Wiki.
Anyway, I'll see what I can do.
[EDIT]Hm... apparently a FPA article was started twice but was speedily deleted under A7 criteria.

Okay, so just to recount what we have to far (I added a few things to this also). I think almost every section needs extending.
Fancy Pants Adventures is a free online browser-based flash game, created by Brad Borne. Two worlds have been released so far, World 1 can be played here and World 2 here. Its a fluid combination of discovery, speed and fun. The free Flash gaming website AddictingGames has called the main character of the series, Fancy Pants Man, a "modern-day Mario" due to the games' use of jumping, running, and the stomping of enemies, much like the Super Mario series of games.
GAMEPLAY (main section)
Gameplay in Fancy Pants Adventure is kept simple by it's use of employing only the directional keys and the "S" button on the keyboard to jump. This is true for both Worlds that are currently released.
The wall jump was obtainable in World 1 as a secret power-up from a pit that you travel to through a cardboard box and was noted by Brad that it was still work in progress. Quickly after obtaining the wall jump, you had to employ the uses of it straight away to avoid an inevitable death from the slowly filling pit. The wall jump became an official move available in World 2's increasing repertoire of moves. This was first shown in a demo that was made available by it's creator, Brad Borne, on March 13th 2007.ENEMIES (subsection)
The main type of enemy in both worlds seems to be spiders. Originally World 1 also featured a rat with a gun that shot projectiles at the player, as well as some enemies that look similar to dragons. World 2's variety of enemies originally only consisted of the spider, which returns as an enemy from World 1, and the snail, used as part of the snailshell golf game. But during some updates made by the developer (Brad Borne) the rat was added to World 2 in Update 1.5, similar to in World 1, it is rarely seen and appears only once per level.BOSSES (subsection)
At the end of each world of Fancy Pants Adventures, you have to fight a final boss. In World 1, the final boss was an angry penguin, who you accidentally fell upon and woke up from sleeping. The penguin was originally named <INSERT STORY ABOUT THE ORIGINAL PENGUIN WHICH I DON'T REALLY KNOW>. In World 2, the story was a bit more complex. After an angry rabbit stole your ice cream reward (see "Story"), the purpose of the game was to run through to the end and fight the angry rabbit and reclaim your ice cream prize.STORY
In World 1, there wasn't much plot or story to drive the game forward. The game was mostly driven by it's gameplay. Although in World 2, Brad explained there would be a light plotline (through his blog) to the game to make it more enjoyable. It didn't affect the gameplay but was there for comedic purposes. This involved a rabbit stealing your ice cream while you were talking to the mayor of Squiggleville and the you faced him (her?) as the end boss.SNAILSHELL GOLF
During the game you can jump on a snail to make it go in its shell. Afterwards you can hurl it around and eventually get it into a snailshell golfball hole. The SnailShell golfball challenge is an extra for people who dont want to make a quick run-through. After kicking the shell in a hole, you obtain a new color of pants.BRAD'S BLOG
Brad's blog quickly became an integral part of the BETA process. With new BETAs being released on a fairly regular basis that no other websites had. Brad employed the use of his blog-goers as BETA testers and bug-reporters. It became the central hub for the latest bug-fixes and BETA news. The Snailshell Golf game (see above) was inspired by the BETA game testers challenging themselves to get the snailshell to the top of the level.

Alright, after some delegation I've decided to create it on my page first so it won't get deleted if we mess up. It's also a way to get this project of the ground.
See what else needs adding and changing. I'm trying to add a image as well on the right side, but I'm not well-versed in the ways of the wiki. Anyone willing to help?
Feel free to change what you want about it.

I added some stuff, and put the image on the side, you can see where I got it from.
Okay then, we need to know:
origin of the angry penguin and rabbit
what's FPM's real name

Haha awesome work man!
It's becoming more and more likely that we'll actually be able to do this now.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Hey, anyone know what else to add? I'm stuck and the article doesn't seem quite adequate yet.
And Brad, if you're reading, some help would be appreciated too. XD
Posted 3 years ago # -
I believe the Angry Penguin's original name was "Pauly Penguin" and he was borrowed from Brad's friend. Not sure about the details.

Yeah, that's Paul's character, the guy in the 'Behind The Fancy Pants' video. I think it's rumored that the Angry Penguin had ordered a wake up call, but woke a tad bit delusional...

Updated, added reference section too.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Good, the reference thing was the one part I couldn't figure out how to do. Wikipedia won't accept the article unless we have enough sources.

Haha, it took me quite a few to figure out too. I looked in a variety of articles but each one was different. I ended up trying every code I found until it worked.
