I personally prefer classic rock over anything. Older hip hop is alright too.

I like:

Aerosmith
Guns 'N Roses
AC/DC
Journey
Phil Collins
Genesis

etc.

I don't have a specific favourite bands. And I tend to like any music that I deem good by hearing it. I'm not that into music anyway.

I guess I lean towards the "indie" type music, I hate emo music, its full of bad singers and depressing lyrics.

I listen to rap music a lot, though rap after 2006 has gone into a steep decline. With artists like Cupid and Hurricane Chris that focus more on hot beats than on actual intelligent lyrics (and with people actually liking them)... well, it sucks majorly. I also don't like modern pop and rock, especially punk rock. I really loke old rock, though. Beatles and the like.

I've recently also started to listen to nsrumental beats, especially hip-hop beats. Look up Nujabes and similar artists. Breakbeats are not bad too. Pretty relaxing.

I don't feel like listing all the bands that i like so my favorite would probably be Catch 22. The ska one not the metal one.
