As you know, I've made a few games in Javascript. While I am good at making them, Javascript isn't exactly the best language to write games in. I got a copy of Flash 5 from a friend, (can't afford the real one ) and I want to know: can you make a game with it? Does it use actionscript or anything like that?

I want to know this before I start learing how to use Flash 5, since it will probably take a while, and I don't want to learn everything and then find out I can't make a game.

I've read in some places that if you know Javascript, Actionscript is similar. Does anyone know anything about that?

Plus if anyone has any good tips for a beginner, please tell me.

Javascript is usually for starters, but i think since youve used it, Flash 5 will be an easy transition.

I think flash 5 only had actionscript 1.0, so you might be at a disadvantage there. Maybe try getting a copy of a later version?

Also, yes, actionscript is very similar to javascript, so you should be able to get the hang of it quickly.

Ok, that's good. At least I have something to start with.

I can't afford the current version. Isn't it like $800?
That's why I only have Flash 5. I got a copy from a friend for free, so....

I'm saving up for either a Wii, a new Laptop, or a new TV
(I guess I would need the new TV before getting the Wii, now that I'm thinking about it....), so I don't want to spend it on Flash.

Prioritizing is important and can improve your efficiency in numerous things. unforutunetely i lack that aspect therefore handicapping a lot of inprodential things.

Yes, prioritizing does help your efficiency.
