Yea, I like having an internet browser on a USB. Only thing is it won't open at school so there's no hope of circumventing blocks on all the game websites and stuff

It won't open in school? Is it because they prevent opening .exe files on limited accounts?
And there are other ways to circumvent blocks.

Care to share? I remember last year we tried to create a website but somehow Fancy Pants wouldn't open on the site...
And yea, I don't know, I click on FF(It's on a SanDisk U3 drive) and nothing happens. No error or block message or anything.Posted 3 years ago # -
You didn't hear this from me, k?
The simplest way is trying to find the IP of the website, easily done through command prompt's ping ability, copy and paste it into the address bar. This only works if your techies are incompetent though.
Another way is proxies, not the safest way as it's easily detectable and subsequently blocked.
The last way I can think of is through Google, specfically through google translate. Let's try Brad's site. The only way the school can stop you is physically, or they could block Google - which happened once at our school. Caused such an uproar.*ahem*
Yea, looks like on limited accounts you can't open .exe files that's why.Posted 3 years ago # -
w0w.
But couldn't they block google translate and not google?
Thanks a lot.
PS I might PM you about that sometime during school if you don't mind...Posted 3 years ago # -
It depends on your school's system, a lot of them can only block top-level domains. So to block translate.google.com they have to block google.com.

Or they could just block every other website at random the way my middle school did.

Haha, really? At random?

It seems like that. I know someone who got on to a pornographic site (not by proxy, it just wasn't blocked), yet whenever we needed to get some information on something historical, chances are the site was blocked.

Wow, that does seem random. One of those things where you have all the websites sitting in front of you, and then someone just blindly stabs a few
And yea, I can kind of remember that happening. ie they blocked Wikipedia for some reason, and then every article, even if it wasn't bad, was blocked.
Now if you don't mind me asking - what was that ping thing?Posted 3 years ago # -
I remember my school blocking Wikipedia. It was hurriedly unblocked in mere hours after much uproar.
The ping thing is bascially:
>Go to command prompt (Run > "cmd"
>Then type "ping" followed by the websiteFor example, "ping google.com" would give me the IP: 74.125.127.100
Which when put into the address bar will go to google.comPosted 3 years ago # -
oh I see - that is cool. For me, it gave me a slightly different IP and then came up with Google English instead of just Google, but meh, it worked.
And sorry if I'm asking too much, but because I'm curious, you get proxy servers as a program?
Posted 3 years ago # -
I get Google english as well. That's because going directly circumvents the retrieving the domain name from the DNS. But you don't need to worry about that. Just remember, there's a good chance your school has blocked the IP as well.
Proxies come in many forms, but the one you're looking for are web proxies. Where you go to site and you use that to make it look like you're on a different site then you are actually on. You can find many easily through Google.
And again, you didn't hear this from me.

Just looked, seems easy enough. And of course not, I actually found it all on wikipedia(oh, the irony =P).
Posted 3 years ago # -
*ahem* Yes, that is where you seemed to have got it from.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Absolutely. I've never even heard of a WJUK...

You can also ping the cool way, which will make you seem like a pro in your friends eyes
open notepad, type@echo off
title t3hS3mic's 1337 web hax
nslookupand save it as webUnblocker.cmd
open it, type in a website, and bingo
The big advantage of this being a program is that you can sell it to your friends

Alternatively, you can also use "nslookup" directly in cmd. But I prefer ping.

what do all the numbers and letters and hax stuff mean?
