Real or no? and EXPLAIN why you think so plz.
I personally don't believe it exists, I don't understand why everyone rallies behind Gore when he has no background in the subject and all of his arguments have already been dismissed by all the people who specialize in the field. Global warming has proved to be wrong, and now people are going to possibly starve because of it. Ethanol and all that. I think that all the extreme measures people are trying to put into effect or going to harm the human race more then the theory of "global warming" ever would . . .
oh yeah and why was it that when the weather started to go against their theory that they quickly scrambled and said "Oh we meant global CLIMATE change."
Freak! Climate CHANGES!!?? We're all going to die!!!!!

I reckon something is happening...it is getting hotter...ppl know it and've proved it. But, some places like England and errrrm i think the easten Irish coast might get colder, because if the Earth heats up a current of water that heats these two contries will move away, and any other contries with currents like that will get the same problems, although it really depends on where you are in the world.

P.S.
i really can't be bothered to explain the current thing

It's colder here, its Spring and then weather is pretty cool, its not unnaturally hot at all.
And global warming is actually largely refuted by the majority of climatologists.

Still. Do we need to wait until Earth is a fire ball to say: "Hey maybe you were right, guys. Too bad I'm dead right now."?

Is it that hard to take the bus? Is it that hard to ride your bike? Is it that hard to recycle? I don't think so.

And, I'm not saying that for you, FairlyObvious. Maybe you do care about the environement.

I think when you scam people into buying green credits or whatever they call them like Al Gore does, then there is an issue. As far as I'm concerned the fact that people are listening to a hypocrite like Al Gore is disturbing.
It's been noted by several people that the temperature is changing normally and that the alterations in temperature are normal for this time period.
And also, for some people, YES it it hard to take a bus, and YES it is hard to ride your bike somewhere. Not to mention recycling can be an issue for some, my family used to recycle but then it got to be such a hassle for us we just stopped. For SEVERAL reasons, not because we don't care about the environment. Do you know how much energy is used in recycling? I'm not saying its bad, but I'm not saying its some huge deal either.
Global Warming is a myth. People that complain about the weather aren't the ones that STUDY it. Climate is a climatologists LIFE, I trust them more then I trust an ex vice president who uses more energy air conditioning his house then a small business does.
It's just like saying that by now CA should have disappeared into the sea, that was a widespread thing at one point too.
Still waiting . . .

Personally I'm on the fence about this, the influx of CO2 emissions and sulphur emissions we produce is not a good thing for the planet. If possible, it'd be nice to cut down on these.

But there's also been much evidence supporting that it's just natural changes that the Earth goes through. Like the Ice Age which is apparently due soon. I haven't noticed it getting hotter, but it seems that weather has gotten more erratic and extreme. Last year we had floods in the Summer. Summers seem hotter and drier, while winters definitely feel colder.

And about the conveyor belt (which is what it's called) that Jimbo talked about. Yea, I saw a program that explained that and I was like: 'WTF? Only the UK would have it so bad as that while everyone is getting hotter (when most of them are hot enough already) we'd be getting colder! Even though I wouldn't mind if England rise a few Celsius in temperature. Would be nice to have temperature like Spain...

Uhm just thought i'd let all of you guys know that a group of scientists spent a couple years studying global warming only to come back and say "it ISN'T HAPPENING!".
And really what good solid proof do we have, besides the hole over Antarctica which has been there for the longest time?

The ozone layer hole thing is getting smaller and closing up.
One argument used a lot is the melting ice caps, but that can be attributed to normal changes in weather by the planet.

You need a certain amount of ice caps and we have enough to be in an ice age...scarey...

Do you live in the UK too? I live in the East and we got snow, I think it still occasionally hails here too (I live in the East, near the coast). Hell, I think it happened today once.

That's what I've been saying, seems like the weather has gotten more extreme. It's either really cold, or really hot. Hardly any in-betweens anymore (over here anyway).

Actually, I believe it's the South that is warmest. North tends to be colder. And we are up north, rather than down south more than anything.

Well, Wales is very... er... mountain-y so there is the chance of more rain.

Unless we colonize other planets soon, or build a giant spaceship to go into space because we've filled Earth with trash. Then we leave behind these army of robots that try to clean up the place and wait for our return. But something happens and most of them get broken except for one...

It's very possible, what's more debatable than whether or not climate change occurring now is whether or not it is natural or not.

I mean, I have no doubt that people have messed up the atmosphere and the environment, but as I said, it can be debated. It's not like climate change hasn't happened a bit before.

I've heard that these guys form some university somewhere managed to get lightning to strike with a laser beam or something. If that's true maybe in future years, we can manipulate the weather to our advantage?
