Wait - you play football, and you throw a ball and your hand gets numb? Don't you mean rugby?
There are plenty of instances when you need to throw a ball in football. Throw-ins, if you're the keeper, retrieving the ball after you've skyed it.

All I have to say is: At least I wasn't in goal. The ball was practically just a big round stone that hurt A LOT when you got hit.

I reckon the Earth is heating up, we all know that, but i dont think it has much to do with us. Obviously an element of the heating is caused by our impact on the climate but the vast majority is Climate change. It is actualy Climatic change that would have happened whether we be here or not. The Earth is coming out of an Ice Age and so you would expect warming.
That said, we are burning too much fossil fuels and doing bad stuff for the environment, we need to stop, but it isnt all as bad as the media and everyone says it is.
I have to agree that the press are making this too much of a moral panic (although it seems to have died down quite a lot lately). But it just seems they over-exaggerate sometimes.
The way I see it, we definitely are a contributing factor to global warming. But not to say that we are the pure cause of it. Really what we should be concerned about is polluting our environment. And again, of course we're not going to kill all life, but we could probably mess stuff up pretty good. And we are going to run out of fossil fuels eventually even if they didn't hurt the environment. So we should definitely put effort towards using renewable energy resources.
