I wasn't sure if this deserved it's own topic, but it gets one anyway.

So I've been trying this browser on my free time, and I kinda like it. It's pretty bare, but it's still in beta. So far, I haven't seen that many new features, or things that distinguish it from any other browser. Except this one:

Seriously, though, what do you think? Will it become the next great thing, better than Firefox, even? Or is Google just pushing it a bit too far with this one?

Interesting. They liked most of it, but not the security.

I tried it out and it is pretty good. The bookmarking needs a bit of an improvement but it's good. I liked the start page which lists your most visited website.

And the pop-up bombardment preventer is pretty good... damn, it blocks my pop-ups.

But I think I'm going to stick with FF for the time being, since Chrome is still in BETA. I'll test it again when it's officially out and draw comparisons then. Plus, I can't just forget about the FF add-ons now can I?

Chrome is made to hav less bells & whistles so you can surf faster. And I like Bells and whistles

Now, I wouldn't mind if Chrome was my college's preferred browser. Since I'm not looking for those "bells and whistles", as Nyubis puts it, at college.

And I agree, those bells and whistles are important to me too.

I use a browser to surf the web and watch videos.

AND PLAY AWESOME BRAD BORNE GAMES![/ad]

I'm not too big on a bunch of accessories. I have my Google Toolbar. That's it for me. =P

You should try some of the Firefox add-ons, they've got some for everyone. No joke.

Try and think of something that you would think would be nice in a browser, it's probably a FF add-on.

Right. Like I have the CoolIris add on. It creates a little internal pop-up window that shows a new page. Very helpful for this forum. I don't think I could browse without it now.

So yeah, there's something for everyone.

on my computer (vista) while using google chrome, I can't scroll up using the musewheel. I think it's just my mouse, but is it happening to anyone else?

@VG: I have a bunch of add-ons with FF. Adblock, download statusbar, hyperwords, IE tab, Speed Dial, Ubiquity, WOT etc.

@FMS: Nope, never happened to me before.

yeah. it messes up sometimes when i play Team Fortress 2, so i figured it was the mouse. But google chrome has a great adress bar, maybe better than the awesomebar!

I have Firefox, Explorer and Safari and Chrome totally pwn them all! Chrome is so much faster but there is still one problem is that it hasn't been around for so long. When i got it first Hotmail wouldn't work, but now it does.

I just tried chrome the other day, it's not too bad. Except I have one beef with it. When I installed it it added an extra link without my consent; a link with the firefox logo on it and 'internet' as a title. When clicked, it opens chrome.....riding on FF's coattails much chrome?

I tried Chrome and it's pretty cool. I lkek the simplicity, and the tab design epicly pwns that of all other browsers. Especially when you have Vista.

@nichaey: Something is wrong with your computer. I know this from XP. There is a standard internet icon on some version of XP. Google Chrome probably installed itself as standard browser but didn't change the icon on the Internet shortcut.

As said (on other topics) i got the four most popular and this my rank of those four.

3. Safari: kind of old, no specialy cool features.

2. Internet Explorer: slow, but does what it got to do.

1b. Firefox: Not as fast to open as Chrome but can have a lot of flash at the same time.

1a. Chrome: opens fast, get to the websites fast but cannot handle flash as good as Firefox.

Since Web Development has been hijacked, I thought I'd post this here:

The Latest in Pro-Spam Technology!

Basically, when you press "Send Post", it starts a timer that lets you know if you'll hit the time limit. Very useful for sprees. You can see the little timer icon that you can use to check how much time you have left before you can post.

I'm not listing this on Chrome Extensions, since it doesn't work on any sites besides this forum.
