I think they've pretty much said all EA games will be Origin-exclusive from now on. In the end, it is a business so you can't really blame them.

More politics than good business sense. You know they would push more units on Steam, but all big companies nowadays believe that they have to control and own their users. They want emails and subscriptions for everything. Was the main reason for the blowback when Apple announced that subscriptions had to be done through the App Store. Most developers didn't care that Apple was taking a cut, but they hated that opting out was so easy, and that they didn't get access to the user's info and metrics.
They would definitely push more units on Steam, but I think they want to make EA into a platform not just a publisher (to get more money, incidentally).
They already ask for user information when you play any online multiplayer game (and even singleplayer, if you're planning on getting DLC).

The really annoying thing for me about Steam is it's COMPLETELY non-native interface. For the most part it looks nice, but seriously. On Mac I have no idea what the hell it's doing half the time.
True point. But I don't use it often on my CPU anymore thanks to work. 
so I can't say the same exactly, but in the summer it did that to me. So true point.

Yep, Steam is pretty awful on a Mac, but on Windows, it's the best looking thing there! heh.
To be fair, iTunes is pretty terrible on Windows, so...

No delay, we've been planning the iOS version for awhile now, and the plan's always been to release W3 and FPA on iOS around the same time.

The iOS version is releasing in January, and since they are both going to be released at around the same time...OMG! Worlds 3's coming in a month!!!!!!!!
