It's not really that annoying to have friends like that unless they're the kind that literally will never stop trying to convert you, or are the "darker ones" as I call them.
I'm not going to try to convert you, though. I asked one of my friends to watch the show once and he said it just didn't appeal to him. I respected his thoughts and let him be.

Both are correct, it's just that your adding an extra word that can help in a sentence.
