Some video games like GTA IV, which are R18+ in the UK, are only MA15+ here in Australia.
There is no way that our video game industry is the most restrictied in the world.
Sure that the government has banned a few games like Postal. but who wants to play a game where there is no story and just violence. A game like that must get boring very quickly.

Here are some games (of the top of my head) that were banned in Australia:
>Alien vs Predator
>Dark Sector
>Any GTA game (GTAIII, GTAIV, GTA:VC, GTA:SA)
>Fallout 3
>Risen
>Silent Hill: HomecomingPosted 3 years ago # -
To be honest, I've never really liked violent video games anyway. But I understand that other people like them, I respect that, and I don't think they should be banned.
Also, I've heard Australia's government is doing some internet censorship lately. Has that affected you?

I can understand why you may not. And usually, the "violence" and gore is only meant to supplement the gameplay. If the game is exclusively based on violence, then it's stupid.

I agree, however a game like GTA4 I don't believe to be a bad game, it's not as bad as movies these days.
Also games like GTA are only bad if you wan't it to be. When I play I don't just go on huge killing spree's, I drive around pull some stunts...
I'm not a jack*** and by playing that game I don't turn into one. Jack***es who play GTA games are still jack***es.
Also, Fallout3? Really? What's so bad about that game?

GTA4 isn't based on violence. It's based on stealing cars and hurting the people in them!*

Fallout 3 was banned due to in-game drug use. They changed some things and it was allowed.

The GTA games are not banned here in Australia. I've played them. They are available practically anywhere. They carry the Australian ratings so they must be allowed.
As for the censorship, thats only a thing that parents can buy for their kids so it blocks the bad stuff on the net. The concept is stupid if it covered the entire internet as it would block good sites.
One good example is at school, the education department has a blocker. The stupid people blocked one part of their own site!!Posted 3 years ago # -

The reason most of the games on the wiki were censored is because that in Australia the highest rating for video games is MA15+. This is two ratings lower than our movie classifications. An example of this is a game needed to be censored to come into Australia. In the game you played as a girl who had to bully other kids. If the censorship had occured there would be no plot to the game, and so the government was juggling with attaching an R-rating to the game.
Judging by the list we have alot more games censored but less banned.Posted 3 years ago # -
I heard they're thinking of allowing mature games over there. How's that coming along?

@WJUK: For the mature games, our government isn't even considering that sort of thing. Its completely against what there trying to do, wrapping us up in cotton wool and all.

Really? I thought there was a bill or something being passed around about it?
Posted 3 years ago # -
There probably was a bill, although it was probably proposed by the greens and didnt even get into parliment.
(The greens are a stupid political party here in Australia, sorry if my Aussie political reference scares you.)Posted 3 years ago # -
I hope it changes!

Anyways, about the reference point, you just move the actual clip (so go one level higher, then move the clip around). I like to keep the reference points at zero, so I like to set that from the properties window, then move what's inside the clip to line up.
If you want to keep your transitions smooth, you should be duplicating an old clip, copying the frame that the old clip is on, then hitting swap symbol, selecting the new clip, and using what's already in there as reference. Doing it that way will keep your reference point consistent. I have, however, had artists go crazy with reference points, they don't tend to think about that for some reason...
