Not many people here know AS3, except for VG, but he hates slope detection.
You're best off digging around the NG BBS, or, if that doesn't work, emailing Brad.

Christ almighty, only been a year since I posted this topic? Time does fly.
Never really did pursue the slope detection stuff, but I'm having another bash at it (probably going about it in a really bizarre way).
As far as rotating to the ground it's pretty damn simple, but it's quite a bit more complicated when you get past 90 degrees of rotation either way. Not to mention momentum on sharp points etc.
I'll let you guys know if I ever come up with anything worth posting.Posted 3 years ago # -
=P It's either fix the site and work on World 3 or work on the slope detection tutorial guys. He has been talking about doing some different tutorials and Q&As at some point, but right now he has work and a Progress Report to finish. =P

Brad's got a more or less perfect way of doing it. He's the only one I've seen that does it just right, so you figure he's not gonna just give out the code for it.

I didn't ask for all his code, I just asked how he did it in the skateboarding-thing .fla in his FPA video.

lol, it never works... my personal theory is that brad just uses the e-mail thing as a decoy. he probably never actually checks it....
