   Hey all, this is a topic created for the discussion of Text-based games. Yes they still do exist! Many of these games are called MUDs, or Multi-User Dungeons. They can also be grouped in with MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games). I think they are really really fun, and are the most versatile type of games around.
   If you are new to the concept of MUDs, they have no graphics (in the sense that there are not pictures). Some have text-based ASCII graphics and maps. What are your thoughts?

   I love text-based adventure games, they can be so weird.

   Zork is awesome, probably my favourite. Although Nethack and Dwarf Fortress (although they are slightly different) are also brilliant.

   This website obviously shows a list of the top MUDs there are (voted on by the players).
   I have not heard of those ones. Are they single player or are they like MMOs?

   They are all singleplayer.

   Zork is the an awesome text-based adventure game.

   While Nethack and DF are ASCII-based where everything is letters. Although hard to get into, they are hella fun. DF especially is hard to get into.

   Haha, you're definitely going to need some sort of tutorial for it. Trust me. Although if you get into it, it can be really rewarding.

   Btw, the whole point of the game is losing. Because "losing is fun".
