Whenever I get inspiration for poetry, I just start writing like a freaking machine. Or like last day, I'd been meditating for like a week or more so that I could write a monologue for my drama class. And then A Hard Day's Night started playing, and it hit me like a truck. Best writing session ive had, EVER. Im actually compiling all my writing, so that I can make a poetry/short story/essay/monologue book. ^^
yeah, but as soon as i get OUT of assignment mode, i usually dont get anything REALLY done for a few weeks

so, i've been trying to figure out if i'm gonna do EVERYTHING by tweens, or actually start animating everything! i started on a breathing animation for a baddy... pretty useless but its looking almost as smooth as brads stuff! i've been putting into action everything i learned in brads last progress report to get it, but if i ever finish it, i'll probably have to do really smooth animations for EVERYTHING! that might be quite hard because right now we've got about 9 different animations already done for the main character and there is still another 10 or so to make... if you think i should do fbf animation for the main guys animations, jus tell me... and i'll prolly have something pretty dec to show off in a day or so.
If you want something to actually move and look realistic, animate it. If it's just changing color or alpha, use tweens. Animation is generally better, though.

You can kinda use FBF and tweens at the same time, when the tweened movieclip has minor FBF animations in it to make it seem more lively.
yeah, but the thing is, if i do end up fbfing everything, that will probably cause the game a few extra years of development... considering how often i work on it, and how long it takes to get the quality i want.

Try to sort out what would be best done with tweening and what with FBF. Or what with a combination of the two.
