and subtle spam, but that's too long for a title.

So for those of you who don't know (mainly because I haven't posted it yet), I'm working at an online marketing company over the summer, doing videos and web design (how cool is that!). I've already done one, and have another one going up next week. So if it's okay with you guys, I'd like to post my work here (it is the 'your work' forum, after all), and let me know what you guys think of the design.

My first website is Video2People. I know it's not that interesting, and there's still one or two bugs to be ironed out, but let me know what you guys think. Hopefully I can either fix the problems or use your thoughts in my future designs.

DS gets deleted if he complains about the navbar.

I like it. It's nice and simple. But the top third of the buttons on the navigation bar isn't clickable. So I would suggest that you fix that. Also, I'm sure that you're aware of this, but the picture at the bottom is cutting of some text. I would also make the logo in the top left link to the 'Home' page.

Oh, shush, you're just sore about the tablet thing. This topic is quite important enough to have a thread of its own.
EDIT: Um, never mind I guess.

Anyway, VG, awesome!! I am jealous. I wish I could get paid to do that. My stuff would suck though.

(Oh, and don't delete DS. He worked hard to be able to complain like he can today.)

I really like, VG. Unfortunately, I know virtually nothing about HTML, CSS, etc. So I use this.

Edit: (Gosh, I hope I'm not stealing the spotlight here.)

Not bad, not bad at all.

Although I noticed an overlapping issue in the bottom right with the picture and this block of text:

I really don't like the glow on the sides. It makes the site (in my mind) look more unprofessional and <in my opinion>makes the site sorta ugly</in my opinion>. I would change it to a drop shadow type thing. Also, in Firefox (at least) there is an about 7px whitespace at the bottom of the page that needs to be removed.

Also, you need to include the name of the company in the <title> tag, I had a lot of trouble finding it on Google 'cause it doesn't say Video2People anywhere.

...you're right. I swear, it worked when I was testing it! I'll see what I can do about that.

Well you're certainly entitled to your own opinion, but I can't really make a design change at this point, since the design has already been approved (and very well-liked) by the manager. I appreciate the thought though.

Oops, just noticed that. Stupid WP Stats putting that smiley face at the bottom of the page (need to get rid of that).

It is in the title tag right now, although I think the old site didn't have Video2People in the title tag, and since this site just went up last week Google hasn't had a chance to recache it.

What browsers are you guys using? Because I'm not getting that in Chrome, FF, or IE (on Vista or XP).

Don't have red hair, although I admit that avatar isn't exactly what I look like. It's more of what I'd like to look like when I'm in my 20's.

Oh man, a site I'm allowed to bash a lot!

Well, first. Meta tag "keywords" should only have about 5 keywords. Otherwise, Google (and other search providers) might detect the site as spam. Secondly, the blue glow on the sides is too easy to see. Make it more grey and less "Hey! I'm standing out!".

Then you can also add a tiny text-shadow for us non-IE users. It will smoothen out some ugly text. Also try adding a little shading on the logo. Clear colors just stand out like it was no thing. Then there's that very blue thing with a screen on it (also quote from founder). That should not stand out so much on the sides. Because of the fact that it stands out so much, it looks like ugly "Hey, I'm trying Web 2.0!".

Also, this is the first time ever that I will accept your main navigation buttons.

On-topic: Yeah, the site's nice. Just one thing bugs me - the insane amount of text on the front page. I know you need to get information across, but not enough things are bolded and it's not short enough. Stupid people who visit advertising sites (cause smart people don't) can only read short blocks of text. For example, even the entire second paragraph can be deleted. Give the people what they WANT to see. Don't blab on. Don't even deify ('s that a word?) the product. Tell them that it's good, that they should buy it, and move on.

People won't read that much text. Besides, half of it's basically useless; Letâ€™s face facts â€“ no-one cares about digital billboards.

(Sorry, wrote too many essays to not say something about density )

I love billboards that advertise a product that they assume everyone's heard of, and don't bother explaining what it is. It's pretty funny.

Wow, the site looks very professional. Great job!

I will admit though, like Leofish said, I keep trying to click the top logo to return to the main page. That would be a great addition.

I find this funny:

In his spare time, Andrew works in Flash to build browser-based games.

Surely, even I have more spare time then that... And I do a large amount of work without getting payed...

But the site looks great, although the blue glow makes the site seem a little bit radioactive.

Not sure where you heard that, but I'm pretty sure that only kicks in if you have like 1000 keywords.

I did attempt to do that but I have several demos failed attempts. I didn't make the logo so I have to work with what the graphic designer gives me.

I know you hate Web 2.0, but I don't understand what you mean. Do you mean it stands out too much from everything else? Or do you mean it sticks out on the sides (what you literally said)?

I'll talk to the manager about that. Now that I think about it, the text may be a bit much. (She is a bit talkative in real life, on the site you haven't seen yet I've been removing content left and right.) Good point though.

Well I also make rom hacks, youtube videos, work on my own site, waste time here, and do other stuff that I didn't mention on there.

The Facebook and Linkedin buttons link to those websites own homepages. I don't know if thats a glitch, or V2P hasn't created those pages to link to yet...
