It seems to be linked towards local host, so I assume it can't be found because the local host is not the Patton Media site where the logo is stored.

Btw, is Flash a language?

Technically Flash is a program and Actionscript is the language. But it basically means 'I know how to use Flash on a webpage.' without padding it out too much.

They mention Actionscript and Flash. That's cheating.

Anyway, last two sites, which feature very similar designs as the others, because I just didn't have time to do new designs.

They just look like re-skins. XD

I'm surprised you didn't try something fancy with flash in the websites. Although I'm not sure your developer would like that.

Speaking of flash on websites, have any of you seen this?

Well I did all the work at their office, and they didn't have Flash there, so I was basically limited to whatever free programs I could find online (ie. Netbeans).

Not to mention, Flash websites are generally considered bad because they're hard to edit, can't be read by search engines, and don't do well with navigation (ex. new tab).

Man, I haven't used Netbeans in what feels like forever.

But I suppose you're right on the flash website part, it's hard for search engines to index them.

Really? What did you use Netbeans for? I know it's primarily a Java IDE, did you use it for something like that?

At which website did you do anything in Flash?

Wix is eeeeeeeeevil! I had to redo an ex-wix site. That tool is bad. It sticks an ad at the bottom of the site...

@VG: Would you believe me if I said for some Javascript? Our college Computing course wasn't the best (we had to learn frickin' Assembly coding for our exam - such a waste of time).

Our computing class isn't the best in the regards of websites either. We had to built them using framesets, and outdated version of HTML instead of XHTML, and we're learning ASP next year instead of PHP. Ugh...

@VG: Well, they essentially showed us Javascript (and some other languages possibly, I forget) through Netbeans. It definitely wasn't required, but it was encouraged as the teacher didn't really know how to do anything else.

@Nyubis: It gets better when you get into University, I promise.

we're learning ASP next year instead of PHP. Ugh...

*sigh* Well it seems for some reason that people think ASP is better than PHP, although based on the ASP tutorials I've read I don't like it as much.

Although it is pretty similar to AS3, so that may help you.

I'd say give it a go, it's not terribad. I just prefer the simplicity and minimalism of Python.

When learning Java, we used Eclipse so that may factor into it as well. Most computing courses teach Java first but you may find there's quite a few things you don't really get at first which they don't explain and tell you to just do (which I hate).

I think I've downloaded Eclipse for PHP, but I think I never really loved it. I've never really explored IDEs other than Netbeans, since I like it so much.

And they expect people taking this class to come from the Basic class (Basic the language, not as in easy), so I'm sure they'll explain things.

Eclipse is ok. IDEs do make it easier, but it also makes you somewhat lazier.

The way I think about it is if you can program without the IDE than you can program with it. But from the other way around... less so.

You have a BASIC class? Really? What for?

It's really offered as an intro to programming, which I opted to skip because it would have been too boring.

I finished my job on Friday, so you won't see any more updates of sites after this. It was fun working though. Video2People got an update, with an added video and generally better design. Hope you like it.

This isn't related to my job, but the first website I did (that wasn't my own) was for a restaurant, and unfortunately that restaurant closed in early 2009. The previous summer they had bought a two-year hosting plan, which is going to finally expire in a couple days. I think the site is still one of my better designs, and you can still see it here. I put up a different homepage when they closed, but the rest of the site is still intact.
