World 3 Report 3

Woot! We’re 3 for 3! This one went pretty well on the first go, so I didn’t have to redub this, hopefully it sounds a little more natural than the first 2, and hopefully that that’s actually a good thing.

A little less to show off in this one, I’m more looking for feedback this time around, so fire away!

(by feedback I mean what you think of everything in video, not new ideas, trust me I have too many ideas as it is :P)

    ok somehow you guys managed to post 30 comments in a couple of hours… hat somebody said earlier about the shooting while runnig; you’d have to shft hands and would all turn into an upper body work out… i really dont mind unlocking things but brad you still haven’t answered my question: the swirlies acted like coins am i right? but there wasnt much use for them… so are you planning to do anything about that huh? HUH?!?… thank you

    hey there, just like to say congrats for a brilliant game and world 3 looks really good. the one and only thing that annoys me with world 2 is that you cant turn off the background sound of jumping nd stuff as i like to listen to my own music whilst playing so if you could amend this it would be much appreciated. love all the new ideas but try to keep it simple and not to hard- im not the best at comp games. thanx for an amazing game tho.

    @ABC: I’ll have the same volume sliders in World 3 as there were in ME2D.

    @Pieman: Haven’t worked on her in awhile, though I’m looking forward to getting back to working on her grapple, heh. Those should be some fun videos, since I can keep posting iterations of how she works.

    Yeah, I think a stationary turret probably wouldn’t ruin the fluidity..y. Or at least no more than the cannon does, aka not much at all. It would be interesting figuring out the controls though. Maybe it would operate the same way as the cannon, with another button of course to leave “firing mode” and run around the level in the spectacularly fancy way that he does.
    Ooh! Ooh! Just had an awesomely geeky moment of idea-ness.
    What if there were a bonus level involving a cannon that FPM could operate and maybe a rat on another one on the other side of the level? He could be in front of the door or something so that you’d have to shoot him to get through. 😀
    Anyway, … … yeah.

    I think brad should put a store there AND still have stuff to unlock, like in fpm world 1(wall jump ability).but once you get the item then you can upgrade it at the store or something

    No stores, no upgrades, that is what RPGs are for.

    If FPM were to find the pencil and have it from then on, like the wall-jump orb in World 1, that would be fine. But getting something through hard work, THEN “buying upgrades” for it later on… That isn’t really what I play FPA for.

    sorry to double post, I was just play FPA1 and got to the tip of a platform, where FPM started tipping over… whatever happened to that? itd be great to see it in W3

    That’s what I’m saying, FPA isn’t an RPG, it’s an action/adventure platformer. Therefore, time should be spent platforming, not paying for items at a shop, as you would in an RPG. In Pokemon, you buy things at shops. In Zelda, you buy things at shops. You do NOT buy things at shops in, say, Mario. I think it’s rather obvious that stores have no place in the land of FPA. Of course, if you feel that squiggles should have another use besides regaining health, maybe we can think of something… BESIDES stores.

    Well, there are games like Metroid where you do develop new abilities as you go along. In fact, the wall-jump orb in World 1 was a bit reminiscent to that (but it was more reminiscent to Indiana Jones). Brad, what do you think about this? It seems like not many people are content with “having everything” at the outset… :/

    EDIT: For some reason, I was able to edit this long after 10 minutes were up. Have you guys changed the system?

    I dont think hes working on W3… i think he wants some time away from the constant “I WANT THIS, I WANT THAT IN THE GAME”… BRAD YOU ROCK FOR ALL YOU DO xD!!!!!!!… AND ALL YOU HAVE TO PUT UP WITH LOL

    Anyways, as you can see with my last post, I was suddenly able to edit a comment way after 10 minutes were up. I hope this means that Brad has improved the editing system. Otherwise, it’s just weird.

    EDIT: After I posted this, I no longer had the option to edit my last comment, which is normal. I’m not sure what happened.

    hey, you guys pitch in ideas too!!! i just wanted to point out that in sonic (if that is an rpg) you can buy stuff with rings… but i think its a good idea for there to be like “FPM learned a new move” after a certain lvl… brad barne mackz gams

    I agree, Brad even posted a disclaimer that encourages feedback on the VIDEO’S content, not new ideas. He also says he has plenty, so I doubt he really needs very many, if at all.

    yeah lol most of this… er.. 3/4 of these comments are just us arguing about ideas that brad doesnt need… sorry for wasting your time man.. xD anyways.. i guess when people say “skip you” they just mean ‘skip your input’ or they are saying they they are indifferent towards you? gah.. im tired.. cant think to well

    Wow, I don’t get why its so easy to get distracted on this blog. A second ago we were just talking about Stores and projectile weapons and now it’s about flaming doom trolls.

    Anyway, actual helpful advice should bring him back. 😉
    Sooo…
    I really love the idea of a level just for messing around, it looks awesome so far.
    Maybe there could be areas that you have to get to by jumping on top of a spider? Or some kind of invincible practice dummy monster would be awesome. What about cannons that shot you into other cannons if aimed correctly?
    A secret super-cannon at the beginning that blasted you straight to the end would be cool too. You know, for those of us who hate fun.

    Yeah, well, Video Games Live Thursday night, Good Friday, getting shopping done before the Easter weekend, and a terrible sinus headache all day. Trust me, it would have been a terrible update 😛

    well fony, if you werent muslim, you’d know its some kind of catholic celebration… its funny cuz im catholic and i have no clue… like jesus’ feast?… er.. something like that..

    and yes its a real thing… i kno cuz i slowely died 2 hours in a church watching the arch bishop say something… then i started playing with my keys…
